Stages of Residence Visa Issuance for Dependents out of UAE

DMCA authorise employees working her licensed companies to apply for residence visas, or short or long term visit visas provided that they obtain prior approvals from their companies and satisfy all requirements applicable by GDRFAD.

Stages of Residence Visa Issuance for Dependents out of UAE

After satisfying all requirements, residence visa issuance for dependents out of UAE is conducted in three stages as follows:

First Stage: entry visa issuance

  1. Submittal of initial documents for entry visa issuance along with residency fees.
  2. Issuance of entry visa after obtaining GDRFAD approval.

Required Documents:

  1. No-objection letter from establishment/company.
  2. Request letter from sponsor.
  3. Copy of sponsor’s passport, residence visa and Emirates ID card.
  4. Filling dependents residence visa application form
  5. 8 coloured photographs with white background for the dependent.
  6. Copy of dependent’s valid passport.
  7. Copy of tenancy contract (Ejari).
  8. Copy of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) bill for three months.
  9. Copy of E-Gate card.
  10. Original marriage certificate attested by the competent authorities in case of wife sponsorship.
  11. Original birth certificate attested by the competent authorities in case of children sponsorship.
  12. Original education certificates attested by the competent authorities in case of sons’ sponsorship over 18 years of age.
  13. Original single status acknowledgment certificate attested by the competent authorities in case of daughters’ sponsorship over 18 years of age.

After completing all required documents, dependents’ residence visa application form shall be prepared and the original copy will be given to the sponsor for signature. After obtaining GDRFAD approval, the e-Visa will be issued for 60 days from issuance date.

Second Stage: Medical Check-Up

After the dependent has entered the UAE, sponsor shall provide all required documents within a period of not more than (3) workdays. Employment visa will be valid for (30) days from date of entry, and commencement of Emirates ID card issuance procedures.

Required Documents:

  1. Dependent’s original passport valid for not less than 3 months.
  2. Copy of GDRFAD approved entry visa - airport.
  3. Copy of processed Emirates ID card application.

After receiving all required documents, the health card will be issued, medical check-up date booked, and then the dependent shall visit one of the approved medical centres in the emirate to complete the check-up, receive the medical report and deliver it to DMCA in order to complete residence visa procedures. All children under 18 years of age are exempted.

Third Stage: Residence Visa Stamping

After completing all required documents, dependents’ residence visa application form shall be prepared and the original copy will be given to the sponsor for signature. After obtaining GDRFAD approval, residence visa will be stamped on dependent’s passport for three years from issuance date. Sons over 18 years of age will be issued residence visas for one year, and sponsor shall provide copy of Emirates ID card upon receiving it.

  1. Submittal of initial documents to issue entry visa along with residence fees.
  2. Issuance of entry visa after obtaining GDRFAD approval and concluding status amendment procedures.

Required Documents:

  1. No-objection letter from establishment/company.
  2. Request letter from sponsor.
  3. Copy of sponsor’s passport, residence visa and Emirates ID card.
  4. Filling dependents residence visa application form
  5. 8 coloured photographs with white background for the dependent.
  6. Copy of dependent’s passport valid for not less than (3) months.
  7. Copy of tenancy contract (Ejari).
  8. Copy of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) bill for three months.
  9. Copy of E-Gate card.
  10. Original marriage certificate attested by the competent authorities in case of wife sponsorship.

After completing all required documents, dependents’ residence visa application form shall be prepared and original copy will be given to the sponsor for signature. After obtaining GDRFAD approval, the e-Visa will be issued for 60 days from issuance date. Status amendment application form will be prepared, and original copy will be given to the sponsor for signature, and then submitted to GDRFAD.

Second Stage: medical check-up

Required Documents:

  1. Copy of Emirates ID card application.

After receiving all required documents, the health card will be issued, medical check-up date booked, and then the dependent shall visit one of the approved medical centres in the emirate to complete the check-up, receive the medical report and deliver it to DMCA in order to complete residence visa procedures. All children under 18 years of age are exempted.

Residence Visa Cancellation for Dependents

Sponsor shall apply for dependents visa cancellation and make sure they leave UAE before the company starts contract termination procedures.

Required Documents:

  1. Request letter from the sponsor.
  2. Copy of sponsor’s passport, residence visa, and Emirates ID card.
  3. Dependent`s original passport and Emirates ID card.

In case dependents are out of UAE:

  1.   Dependent`s original passport and Emirates ID card (If possible).
  2.  GDRFAD issued exit certificate.
  3. Copy of passport, residence visa and Emirates ID card in case of failing to furnish the original passport.

After completing all required documents, the cancellation application form shall be prepared and original copy will be given to the sponsor for signature. After obtaining GDRFAD approval, residence visa will be cancelled, and copy of the certified cancellation form will be given to the sponsor.

Visit Visa Issuance for Dependents

Sponsor’s Obligations

Sponsor shall be obliged to:

  1. Sponsor shall ensure that visitor departs within the validity of visit visa term period, to avoid overstaying. In case of exceeding the permitted visa period, sponsor shall be responsible to furnish letter of discharge within one week of overstay notification. When this period ends, sponsor shall be subject to a fine of AED 10,000.
  2. Submittal of GDRFAD issued exit certificate.

Short/Long Term Visit Visa Entry Permit

The Entry Permit is a certificate issued by the General Directorate of Residence and Foreigners Affairs - Dubai (“GDRFAD”), indicating that the personal documents submitted by the applicant have been verified, and that he has been issued permission to enter UAE for temporary residence, within a specified period (30/90 days) short / long term. The permit will be for discussions, negotiations or presentations with the client who requested the permission for the visitor and will not include employment emphatically. This permit is provisional and subject to approval by the authorised officer at the point of entry. It is valid for entry through Dubai airports only, since the details have been fed electronically. The original pink visa copy will be required in case of entry through any other UAE airport, and can be arranged by written notice 3 days in advance. To enter UAE, visitors shall hold valid passport or approved travel document for not less than three months, as well as return ticket to the country of origin or place of issue of passport or travel document.

Stages of Visit Visa Issuance

After completing all requirements, visit visa issuance is conducted in two stages as follows:

First Stage:

  2. Receiving e-Visa copy.

Required Documents:

  1. Request letter from sponsor explaining reasons of visit and visitor’s address in UAE.
  2. Filling visit visa application form
  3. Copy of visitor’s passport.
  4. 4 coloured photographs with white background.
  5. Copy of sponsor’s valid passport, residence visa and Emirates ID card.

Second Stage:

After completing all required documents, the visit visa application form shall be prepared and original copy will be given to the sponsor for signature. After obtaining GDRFAD approval, e-visit visa copy will be given to the sponsor so that the visitor can enter UAE. Sponsor shall notify DMCA of entry and exit dates and provide copy of exit stamp issued by GDRFAD – airport
