To license and register marine crafts, in order to implement maritime rules and regulations, ensuring that marine crafts are constructed and manned to the acceptable standards with adequate safety requirements that will comply with the safety of the marine craft, its passengers and crew, and ensure that the marine crafts operate in an environmentally responsible manner that does not cause pollution.

Amendment of Marine Craft Registration Certificate or License

The amendment of marine craft registration certificate is classified into two categories:

1.  Amendment of license or registration details.
2.  Amendment of marine craft technical specifications.

Amendment of license or registration details non-technical

Details includes but not limited to the following:

1. Changing number or name of marine craft.
2. Addition or withdrawal of partner.
3. Amendment of insurance policy details.
4. Amendment of owner’s personal details.
5. Amendment of radio communication device (VHF) details.
6. Marine craft Pledge/ release and discharge from pledged.
7. Change of pier location of marine craft (commercial craft)
8. Placing heirs and appointing their representative.

Amendment Stages of Marine Craft license or Registration Details

After stratifying all requirements, amendment of marine craft license or registration details is conducted in one stage.

Required Documents:

1. Filling the marine craft detail amendment form
2.  Presenting original Emirates ID card, valid passport copy for UAE citizens, or original Emirates ID card, valid passport and residence visa copy for expatriates.
3. Copy of valid commercial license issued by the competent authorities in the emirate if the marine craft owner is a legal personality, in addition to copy of Emirates ID card, passport and valid residence visa for company owners.
4. Copy of title deed for free hold property owners to whom the residence law is not applicable. For Pleasure Marine Crafts only.
5. Original certificate copy of name or nationality change attested by the competent authorities if the name or nationality have already been changed.
6. Original copy of marine craft license and registration as well as the safe manning certificate.
7. Original sale contract attested by the competent authorities in the event of addition or withdrawal of partner.
8. Copy of legal notice in case of transferring the marine craft ownership to heir.
9. Copy of insurance policy valid for the remaining license period issued by one of the insurance firms licensed to operate in the UAE in the event of insurance detail amendment.
10. Copy of original letter of pledge/ discharge and release from pledge for marine craft issued by the pledgee.
11. Copy of annual pier lease contract from a club or marina within the emirate in case of changing the berthing location. For commercial marine crafts.
12. Original certificate copy of approved supplier to license radio communication devices (VHF) in case of changing the radio or adding a new one.

After receiving the authorities’ approval to amend marine craft details, the following shall be conducted:

1. Payment of marine craft details amendment fees.
2. To provide original installation certificate copy of the marine craft identity determining device in accordance with the Critical Infrastructure and Coastal Protection Authority (CICPA) in case of addition or withdrawal of partner.
3. Receiving the marine craft license and registration certificate as well as the minimum safe manning certificate.

Payment can be made in cash to the Customer Service Centers of Dubai Maritime City Authority or through portal electronic payment gateway.

From Sunday to Thursday 08:00 am till 01:00 pm

The service is not available during official holidays determined by the country.

Processing time varies depending on the nature of the procedure, inspection and marine Craft size.
