With this permit, DMCA drives at monitoring and regulating installation/removal/alteration of navigational aids, and protecting public and private property as well as marine environment and life safety of all users of Dubai waters.
Stages of Permit Issuance
After completing all requirements, navigational aids permit shall be issued in two stages as follows:
First Stage: request assessment
Required Documents:
- Filling the navigational aid permit application form
- Request letter to issue permit for installation/removal/alteration of navigation aids along with the operation details.
- Commercial license copy of owner of navigational aids (For private sector).
- Commercial license copy of contractor (If any).
- Copy of floaters detailed location map and as well as details of navigational aids.
- Commercial license copy of organization handling monthly follow up reports on navigational aids status.
- NOC from the competent authorities.
- NOC from owner in case of privately owned areas.
- Certified letter awarding the navigational aids installation to the contracting company.
- Copy of navigational aids annual maintenance plan.
Second Stage: permit issuance
After reviewing all required documents, the installation/removal/alteration of navigation aids permit will be issued while ensuring absolute compliance with DMCA rules who reserves its rights to reject the application in case the concerned party fails to meet the requirements. Additionally, DMCA inspectors shall have the right to visit the site in order to ensure its compliance with safety standards and marine rules.

Processing time varies depending on the procedure and type of submitted application.
