Licensee shall apply for amendment of driving licenses or marine permits which include the following categories:

1. Amendment of customer personal details
2. Amendment of sponsor details
3. Amendment of driving license category

By licensing marine craft crew, DMCA aims at increasing awareness and recognition of safety requirements, marine navigational rules, knowledge of the internal and external waters of the emirate and navigational signs in such areas.

Amendment of Sponsor Details

After completing all requirements, sponsor details shall be amended through one single stage.

Required documents:

1- Filling the marine crew licensing application form.

2- One recent personal photograph with white-colour background.

3- Original Emirates ID card and passport copy for UAE nationals, or original Emirates ID card and copy   of passport and valid residence visa for expatriates.

4- NOC (no-objection) letter from sponsor for expatriates.

5- Original copy of DMCA driving license/ marine permit.

Upon receiving and reviewing all the required documents, marine driving license/ marine permit shall be amended and reissued for the remaining term, up to license expiry.

Amendment of Driving License/ Marine Permit Category

The licensee shall apply for license category upgrade, from lower to higher, if the requested category is of the same type, and if the license category amendment from pleasure to commercial crafts, the customer shall apply for a new license.

Required documents:

1- Filling the marine crew licensing application form.

2- One recent personal photograph with white-colour background.

3- Original Emirates ID card and passport copy for UAE nationals, or original Emirates ID card and copy   of passport and valid residence visa for expatriates.

4- Original copy of experience certificates or new qualifications.

5- Original copy of DMCA driving license/ marine permit.

Upon receiving and reviewing all the required documents, marine driving license/ marine permit shall be amended and reissued for the remaining term, up to license expiry.

Payment can be made in cash to the Customer Service Centers of Dubai Maritime City Authority or through portal electronic payment gateway.

Processing time varies depending on the procedure, type of requested license and experience certificates
